Our Story

Our founder, Derrick Heydon has always had a love for music, but it wasn't until his time in the Marine Corps, that he discovered his passion for DJing. While working a part-time job as a security guard at a nightclub, Derrick was presented with an unexpected opportunity to rock the party when the regular DJ backed out at the last second.

Despite having no experience, Derrick volunteered to step in and found himself completely enamored with the art of DJing. He quickly honed his skills and began performing at various nightclubs and events throughout the San Diego and Los Angeles area.

Upon receiving a Honorable Discharge from the Marine Corps, Derrick decided to pursue a full-time career working in the entertainment industry and founded Crown DJ's LLC with the goal of providing high-quality services to clients in the Lincoln and Omaha area. His experience as a Marine taught him the importance of leadership, discipline, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure - skills that he brings to every event he DJs.
